Philosopher
The Founder’s Philosophy
Where Heart and Hand Become One
“Two to three years devoted to a single cue.
A journey toward the state
where heart and hand become one.”
Founder Azen speaks of a union of qi (vital energy) and yun (resonance), rooted in Eastern philosophy. Transcending mere performance as a tool, each cue is an ultimate work that resonates with the player’s soul. Born of uncompromising craftsmanship, these masterpieces of heart and hand as one are now brought to everyone in Japan.

Behind the Craft
The Miracle of Five in a Hundred
The quality of Zen Custom Cue is born of two things: rigorous selection, and time.
- Carefully chosen wood:Only the very finest timber is used: fewer than five of every hundred raw logs make the cut.
- Uncompromising stability:Six repeated cycles of drying and humidifying give each cue the resilience to resist warping, even in Japan’s climate, together with explosive power.
- Meticulous artistry:Across dozens of stages, each cue is finished with inlay work that allows not even 0.1 mm of deviation.
