The Japanese version of this Policy is the authoritative version. In the event of any discrepancy between this translation and the Japanese version, the Japanese version shall prevail.

The Yokohama Open Organizing Committee (the “Organizing Committee”) has established this Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) as set out below, in order to comply with applicable laws and regulations and to endeavor to properly protect and manage information, including personal information, concerning users of this website (the “Site”).


1. Types of Information Collected and Methods of Collection

In operating its tournaments and providing the Site, the Organizing Committee may obtain the following information.

1-1. Information Provided Directly by Users

  • Name, address, telephone number and email address
  • Entry information (tournaments entered, affiliation and player information)
  • Competition results and participation history
  • Information necessary for payment (bank account details, payment information, etc.)

1-2. Information Collected Automatically

The Site uses cookies and web analytics tools to automatically collect the following information (which does not identify specific individuals).

  • Pages viewed, time spent, and date and time of access
  • IP address
  • Environment information, such as the operating system and browser of the device used
  • Referrer (the URL from which the Site was accessed)

2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

The Organizing Committee will use the personal information it obtains within the scope of the following purposes.

(1) Operation and management of tournaments

  • Accepting entries and processing payment of entry fees and prize money
  • Communications necessary for holding tournaments (by email, telephone, etc.)
  • Publication of results (names, affiliations and results)
  • Communications in the event of a dispute or emergency
  • Ensuring the fair operation of tournaments

  • Answering questions and providing necessary information

(3) Provision of information

  • Notices of upcoming tournaments
  • Information about related events and sponsors
  • Distribution of email newsletters (subscription is optional)

(4) Service improvement and operational strategy

  • Improving the Site through web analytics
  • Enhancing tournament operations and understanding usage trends
  • Reference for future marketing initiatives
  • Reporting results to sponsors (limited to statistical information that does not identify specific individuals)

3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Organizing Committee will not provide personal information to any third party without the user’s consent, except in the following cases:

  2. Where necessary for the protection of the life, body or property of a person
  3. Where especially necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children

  5. Where submission is required by law in connection with the payment of prize money or the like (e.g., statements of payment submitted to the tax office)

* The publication of tournament results (names and results) does not constitute provision to third parties, given the nature of sporting events, which presuppose public announcement.


4. Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc. of Personal Information

Users may request the following with respect to their own personal information:

  • Disclosure
  • Correction, addition or deletion
  • Suspension of use or suspension of provision to third parties


The Organizing Committee will respond promptly in accordance with applicable laws and regulations after verifying the identity of the individual concerned.

The Site uses cookies to improve its services and for web analytics.
Cookies do not contain information that identifies specific individuals.

5-2. Google Analytics

The Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics tool provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect access information in a form that does not identify specific individuals.
The Site has also enabled Google Signals. For users who are signed in to a Google Account and have allowed ad personalization, estimated information such as age range, gender and interests is used as statistical information that does not identify specific individuals.
This information is used to improve the Site and to report results to sponsors (statistical information only).

6. Personal Information Management

  • The Organizing Committee will manage personal information appropriately and take the measures necessary to prevent unauthorized access, loss, damage, alteration, leakage and the like.
  • Staff who handle personal information are limited to the minimum number necessary.
  • Where handling is outsourced, the Organizing Committee will select contractors that manage information appropriately and will supervise them.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

The Organizing Committee may change the contents of this Policy in response to amendments to laws and regulations or as operationally necessary.
The revised Policy will take effect upon its posting on the Site.
