Our year-end party the other day.
Maybe we’d been ordering one highball too many at the all-you-can-drink place, because the server asked if it would be all right to just bring a pitcher…
And we had about five refills of that pitcher, too…
Don’t worry, I didn’t drink all that by myself!!
December really does bring a lot of chances to drink!
Well, not just December. There isn’t a day I don’t drink…
On the 21st I watched the M-1 Grand Prix (Japan’s big manzai comedy contest) on TV at home, a Hoppy in hand.
The champions, Takuro, had me laughing so hard my sides nearly split.
Both of Takuro’s sets, the first round and the final, were hilarious!
Their way with words was superb.
Whether it’s manzai or sports, once there has to be a winner and a loser, even watching gets nerve-racking…
And yours truly, the person behind this blog, is already looking forward to finding out who will become the first-ever champion of Yokohama Open on February 23.
Good evening.
Today, with the first tournament on my mind, I dropped in at Arrows, which will also be one of the qualifying venues for Yokohama Open 2026!
Arrows Billiards
Ryosuke Maruoka and Ayako Maruoka: it’s their place, run by the two of them as husband and wife!

Eight tables in all: two Diamonds as the feature tables, and six Brunswicks.
There’s good room between the tables, too!

A full drinks menu, and plenty of food as well!!!
I’d have loved a drink, but I was driving, so I had to give it up…
Such a shame…

Along with slot machines, there are three dartboards.
Looks like a place you can take your time and enjoy more than just billiards ♪
It’s a way from the station, but there’s a parking garage underground, so it’s easy to get to even from far away!
If you’re looking for a pool hall around Tsurumi Ward, do give it a try!
And if you’re thinking of entering Yokohama Open, Arrows will be a qualifying venue, so come and get a feel for the atmosphere and the condition of the tables!!!
They also hold house tournaments.
You can find the details on Facebook too, so if you’re interested, take a look!
And so, yours truly, having held off on the alcohol this whole time, has finally reached highball time.
I’m going to drink while watching the “WPA Women’s 9-Ball World Championship,” which I still haven’t seen!!!
Entries for Yokohama Open 2026 open on January 5 next year!
We look forward with all our hearts to your participation!!!
