The first three days of the New Year flew by, didn’t they?
Plenty of you are probably back at work as of today?
“Why do days off go by so fast?” I got curious and looked it up, and apparently it comes down to flow (being absorbed in something) and a rise in dopamine.
In the same way, gravity is heavier on days off!
And add the cold, and gravity gets heavier still!!!
Surely this was a great discovery!? I looked it up, and, well, that has a proper explanation too…
It turns out the world has figured out more than you’d think.
That’s me, the person behind the scenes, who spent a lazy New Year looking things up and nodding along.
Once again, Happy New Year!
We look forward to your continued support of Yokohama Open this year.
■ Entries open Monday, January 5, at 20:00!
It’s finally tomorrow.
Entries for “BLUEROSE presents Yokohama Open 2026” open tomorrow, January 5, at 20:00 sharp.
[How to enter]
[Tournament details & entry page] — at the bottom of that page, the link to the “Entry Form” goes live at 20:00. Please fill in the required details there.
■ The “strategy” of choosing a qualifying venue
When you enter, you can choose your preferred qualifying venue.
However, each venue is capped at 32 players, so we cannot always give you your first choice.
We ask for your understanding in advance.
And now, a quick tip from the person behind the scenes!
The finals venue, POOL LABO, may draw a crowd of advanced players who want to get used to its tables.
“Test yourself at POOL LABO, the toughest venue, on purpose?” “Or choose another venue strategically, and raise your chances of getting through the qualifiers?”
This bit of “strategy at the moment of entry” may be one of the pleasures of the tournament, too.
■ From entry to confirmation
- Fill in the form: Once we receive it, the Organizing Committee will email you within 24 hours.
- Check the details: The email will tell you whether your entry is accepted, your confirmed qualifying venue, your entry fee, and so on.
- Please note: Spots may fill up by a hair’s breadth. Please be sure to check for the reply email from the Organizing Committee.
Our memorable first tournament.
There may be shortcomings in how we handle entries, but everyone on the Organizing Committee will do all we can so that you enjoy it to the fullest.
We look forward, with all our hearts, to your challenge!
