—To you, still deciding
Are you about to close the screen, with the entry form still open?
“Am I good enough?”
“Can I fit it around work and everything else?”
“Maybe I should practice a bit more first.”
Every one of those is probably honest!
And the hesitation itself feels perfectly sensible to me.
Which is why there’s something I’d like you to read, just for a moment.
Not flashy. But a tournament you’ll remember
Yokohama Open 2026 is not a tournament that sells itself with big words like “a comeback in one shot” or “life-changing.”
But the odds are good it will be a tournament you find yourself remembering, again and again, long after it ends.
Yokohama is the city where billiards first took root in Japan.
More than 150 years ago, the game came in through the port, and from here it spread across the country.
We won’t claim you’d be carrying that history on your shoulders.
Only—
somewhere along that same line, there is a day when you play billiards.
That’s all.
To those wondering, “Is my level good enough to enter?”
Pros will be playing in this tournament.
Naturally, there will be strong players too.
But B and C class players will stand in the same venue, just the same.
Breathing the same air, getting down on the cue in the same tension.
There’s no need to stretch beyond yourself.
But consider:
- Watching pro matches up close
- Players whose names you know, in the same room
- Waiting, thinking, “I’m up next”
Experiences like these are hard to come by at your practice hall.
Perhaps it’s precisely now, while you feel “it’s too soon,” that the distance is just right.
About the date: Monday, February 23 (public holiday)
A Monday holiday.
Honestly, the timing is close to perfect.
Weekends are for family and errands.
Weekdays, work makes it hard.
But this day is a little easier to work around.
The last day of a three-day weekend.
Many people can rest the day before.
And when it’s over, you can go back to everyday life.
“This year, I’m going to put a bit more into billiards.”
Isn’t this just the right day to take the goal you set at New Year and try it, just once, on the “real” stage?
Choose from 4 qualifying venues in Yokohama
Qualifiers will be held at the following 4 venues.
- POOL LABO
- Arrows
- Side Nine
- Astro Tsurugamine
Pick the one closest to your home or work.
Start in your own part of town, somewhere that feels close to how it always does.
And if you win through, the finals await at POOL LABO.
“I want to play in the finals!”
Just having a goal like that will surely change the weight of every shot.
Win or lose, it becomes a real day
First prize is ¥200,000.
Honestly, that’s appealing.
But we’ve designed this tournament so that losing doesn’t simply mean it’s over.
- A bingo game for every entrant
- Prizes down to joint 17th
- An atmosphere that makes you want to stay on after your matches
Even after your matches are over, there’s room to think, “I’m glad I came today.”
Take part in the tournament, and enjoy Yokohama ♪
Spectators welcome. But if you play…
Just watching is, of course, very welcome.
We’d be delighted if you brought friends or family.
But if you’re someone who usually has a cue in hand…
then, if you can, come not as one who watches, but as one who plays.
Whether it goes well, honestly, no one knows.
But the memory of having played stays with you longer than the regret of not having entered.
