Don’t forget earphones or headphones

On the day, in addition to the YouTube stream, we will run an audio streaming service inside the venue.

Just scan the QR code with your smartphone to use it.
No app download needed.

If you try to follow the commentary by playing YouTube at the venue, the picture and sound will lag behind.
With this audio service, the play in front of you and the top pros’ commentary line up in real time.

We ask that you not use it during your own matches, but please make full use of it when you aren’t playing.

✅ Please be sure to bring earphones or headphones.

Something you can only experience at this tournament: the Players’ Mic

We have prepared something special for this tournament’s exhibition match.

Hijikata and Lo will both play wearing microphones.

“Next I’ll bring it here.” “This layout, I’d build it like this.” “Here, I’m choosing not to attack.” As they play, top pros put their own thinking into words in real time.
This is the Players’ Mic.

Players wearing mics during a match is a touch occasionally seen in sports broadcasts, in baseball or golf, but almost never at a billiards tournament.
And this time it is Hijikata, Japan’s No. 1 ranked pro, and Lo, who has beaten some of the strongest players in the world, talking through their thinking as they face each other in Count 9.

“Why that ball?” comes down to you in words, in real time.

As a way of watching billiards, this is something you will hardly find anywhere else.
For advanced players, new discoveries; for intermediate players, a textbook; for beginners, a doorway into the depths of billiards: it is all there.

This audio will also go out on the YouTube stream.
Listen at the venue, or listen in front of a screen: either is fine.
But consider: the value of experiencing it live, right in front of you, can only be had at the venue.

Between matches, enjoy Yokohama

The area around Isezaki Mall, where POOL LABO stands, is full of places to eat.

From stylish choices like authentic curry and steak rice to Korean food, Chinese food, and set-meal diners with generous portions, there is something for every taste.
If you’re coming from far away, we also recommend trying iekei ramen, which was born in Yokohama.

If you can’t decide where to eat, feel free to ask our staff!

The matches are played for real.
In between, enjoy watching, or enjoy Yokohama’s food.
Make it a full day, one worth the long trip.

What to bring

✅ Cue and full equipment (players)
✅ Entry fee: ¥5,000, in cash (players)
✅ Earphones or headphones (recommended for everyone)
✅ Smartphone (for scanning the QR code and checking the bracket)
✅ Your fighting spirit

Free admission for spectators; drop in anytime

POOL LABO is reserved for the event all day. As the matches progress, the space for spectators will open up too.
There is a full selection of alcohol and soft drinks (food and drink charged separately).

As we mentioned in yesterday’s post, players from more than twelve halls, from Yokohama, Kanagawa and beyond, will gather for this tournament.
Friends who have practiced at the same hall, fighting for real while top pros commentate.
Please come and see it with your own eyes.
Your cheers might just change a player’s result.

Top pros commentating on a BC tournament.
And the heat of a gathered crowd: that is the scene we want to create at POOL LABO.
That is the Organizing Committee’s goal.

Please come to the venue.
Become part of that scene yourself.
