August 14 and 15, 2026. Kannai, Yokohama.
Introducing the 14.1 (straight pool) study groups that send their players to SANSIAS presents Yokohama 14-1 Summit.

On Thursday nights, the lights are on in a pool hall in Osaka.

DRAGON, led by Tomoya Iima. And AMII.

By day, he works an office job.
He runs pool halls, too.
He plays tournaments as a JPBA professional.

And at night, he stands at the 14.1 table again.

No one asked him to.

Even so, Tomoya Iima keeps this place going.

Open the door, and there are people standing at the tables.

Each of them facing their own next ball.

It is quiet.
But it is a taut kind of quiet.

A professional is on the same floor.
That air quietly sharpens everyone’s focus.

If there’s something you don’t understand, you can ask.
In the middle of a match, or after it—ask as much as you like.

About angles.
About the break.
About how to build your position.

A pro answers you, right there in front of you.

It began in 2021.

The reason, he says, was “to carry on the lineage of the Osaka 14-1 Study Group.”

There is a culture that has lasted a long time.
He did not want to let it break off.

While fighting his own battles as a pro, he is still trying to hand this game’s culture on to the next generation.

That is why Iima hosts a place for 14.1.

We asked: 14.1, in a word?

“All of pocket billiards.”

Nine-ball, ten-ball—through 14.1, the way you think about them starts to come together. The players feel it for themselves.

And so, the next Thursday, they come back here again.

B class and above welcome.

About one pro, two SA, five A and four B players—

a wide range of levels around the same tables.

They take it seriously.
But it isn’t intimidating.

If you fail, if you don’t understand, there is a place where you can ask.
Seriousness and warmth share the same air.

What the Workout aims for is a new personal high run.

They take up the cue to get past who they were yesterday.

The numbers climb.
The average passes a personal best.

For that feeling, they come again.

“Even if you’re interested, it’s hard to get going on your own. So I’d really say join an event run by people who love the game and let them teach you. That’s the quickest way in, and I think you’ll find out how much fun it is.”

In Osaka, there is a place a professional keeps alive.
