Sumai Agent presents Yokohama BC Count9 Battle 2026 is finally tomorrow.
Preparation has already begun
How do you understand the word “preparation”?
Getting your cue ready, gathering your gear: that is not preparation. It is only getting ready.
Preparation is all the practice you have stacked up until today.
And it is running through in your head, ahead of time, what situations the match might bring, and with what mindset, and how, you will meet them.
When things go wrong, when nothing goes the way you want: that is where preparation comes alive.
So that you don’t panic when it counts, use your time tonight.
Eighty percent preparation, twenty percent skill.
Not only in billiards, but in sport, in work, in private life, we believe this is the essence of getting results.
Your skill won’t change dramatically in a single day. But preparation, you can still do tonight.
Do your very best for the day
Sleep, food, alcohol. Please, ask yourself:
“Tomorrow, will I be able to say I did my best?”
Do what you can, so that no excuses are left.
That is all it takes.
Getting your condition right is part of preparation, too.
On the mental side
Of course you’ll be nervous.
This is not your usual house tournament.
You may be called to the stream table.
Top pros will be watching you play.
It would be strange not to feel nervous in a setting like that.
But nerves are not the enemy.
You’re nervous because you mean it that much.
Because you mean it, your fingertips tremble, and the hand on the cue grows stiff.
Turn those nerves into strength.
Breathe deep, keep to your usual routine, and focus on one ball at a time.
What you have built up until today will not betray you.
One last word to everyone playing
Tomorrow, 64 challengers gather in Yokohama.
Hijikata and Lo will be watching over your battles.
Our sponsors, Sumai Agent, POOL LABO and Just Do It, are holding up this stage.
Friends who come to cheer are waiting for you.
A BC tournament with this many people behind it does not come along often.
You are not professionals, so results are not everything.
But it is also true that unless you chase results, growing beyond where you are becomes hard.
Each of you, we imagine, plays billiards toward a different goal.
Still, when chasing results makes you grow, and you can do even a little more than you can now, you will touch the joy and the depth of billiards more deeply still.
So go out there to win.
Play with everything you have.
To everyone enjoying it at the venue or on the stream
Tomorrow, do come to POOL LABO. Or join in the excitement from in front of your screen.
The bracket is here! You can follow results in real time.

🎱 Do you have the Count9 rules down?
Push-outs are allowed, and a miss on the 9 alone does not give ball in hand. Knowing this will change how quickly you decide on the day.

The world won’t change, but something in you will. It will be that kind of day.
